Today was a grey cloudy sort of day, with the sky hanging low over the lake.

My last surviving rosebush seemed to like it; it chose today to open its first blossom.

But I did not like it, especially when it began to rain, as soon as we drove into town...

...but fortunately, there are never grey skies inside a pub.
You can visit skies around the world with Skywatch Friday.

a good day susan...the roses are beautiful against the grayish skies and my goodness they look very stormy over the pub.
have a wonderful weekend.
Beautiful photo's. It's been gray here for the whole month of June. It's nice to see that you can still get some pretty pictures in the rain.
Oh, lord, looks like Seattle skies all winter!! But what a fantastic backdrop for your gorgeous roses!! Your photos are fabulous, as always!
Oh, yes, stay inside the pub and drink one for me!
Roses against the sky and a pretty village: what a great presentation.
Lovely atmostpheric clouds you have shared with us. I love the roses which soften the cloud also.
Thanks for your visit and comment. Have a great weekend.
Gray and coloured shots. Beautiful.
I love the third photo - the houses seem to hunkering over to shelter from the storm. I wasn't out in it, but the rain's been a welcome break from all the clammy weather.
Fortunately, there are never grey skies inside pubs. Ha, ha. Great blog. I´ll visit you again.
Greetings from Spain.
Great photos, grey skies here as well. When we were in Ireland we also seemed to never find a grey sky in a pub go figure.
How Beautiful!!! You're Right! Never a grey day inside a pub!lolol
Gray skies have their own kind of beauty. I love the photo of your roses with the silvery sky as a backdrop.
My husband and I went to Ireland ten years ago and enjoyed the visit very much. The people and country made us feel very welcome. So while your pictures show a grey sky they brought welcome memories of a very lovely trip.
that is true about pubs and skies...the rose against the sky is pretty...
Nice Sky Watch Photos.....have a great weekend.
Susan: Thanks for taking us along on the rainy day. I enjoyed the rose capture.
Great Skywatch, Susan. It's nice to hear that you're taking a few minutes during what must be a really busy schedule to relax and enjoy life. Safe travels.
Love the roses shot!
Some days even dreary skies are beautiful as these are.
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Great skies. Nice shots.
I guess all that rain is what keeps Eire so beautifully green and your rose so gorgeous.
Kay, I could live with brown grass a while LOL
Know what you mean Susan, as I listen to the rain hammering down on the conservatory roof, I think I could put up with a spot of parchedness for a wee while!
That is really, really spectacular. Ireland....You can touch the heavens from there. Clearly.
Wonderful series of beautiful photographs !! I really loved them..Thanks for sharing..Do check my another blog also i.e.Unseen Rajasthan
Never grey skies inside a pub, so true, especially in an Irish pub!
This looks like the day we had yesterday, sort of. In our case it never stopped raining for a minute all day long.
At least you got some wonderful photos from your day.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and commenting on my Grandson's visit. I am Life in Wakefield's daughter Marie, and I have seen you on her blog. Will add you to mine....Mom and I went to Ireland and LOVED it in 86. Have a great day! I'll be coming back to take a closer look at both your blogs!
Marie
I would like to see that gray sky here!!! Lovely!
The roses come out beautifully against the gray sky. I also like the colors of the pic with the houses. Are you doing okay?
We are having the same skies here in Illinois. Got a good drenching yesterday. Your rose is lovely.
Marnie
They're all beautiful photos, but I especially like the shot of the rose. Gorgeous!
