Skywatch Friday on the road

We're still on holiday in West Virginia...if I had my way, we'd never leave.

Here are photos of the skies we saw over Clarksburg (birthplace of Stonewall Jackson), Philippi (home of yesterday's mummies and much much more), and the battlefield at Gettysburg PA, just a few hours drive east from our house.

You can see more skies around the world at Skywatch Friday: Join in!

That is a wonderfully framed view of the place where the Gettysburg fracas kicked off. Perfect.

Ol' Stonewall....Came very near stopping off at his monument in Virginia, but didn't. The south is an amazing place for its loyalty to its men.

West Virginia is lovely. Thanks for keeping us on the road with you.

I love the shot through the fence, very clever!

I just stumbled on your other blog. I am wondering about your children with autism. I'm a social worker in the states and have worked with families who also have children with autism. We have a parent's support group here. Are there many services in Ireland?

Thanks everyone!

Mountain Mama, services are different in Ireland; it's worse and better depending. I'll be happy to tell you all about our experiences; I'm at write@stonyriver.ie if you'd like to e-mail me. Thanks for your comment!

We love West Virginia, were just there last week actually, though not in Clarksburg. Lovely photos, sounds like a great holiday.

Great Skywatch, Susan. "Philippi" is kind of an American castle - sad when compared to all the great castles in Ireland.

Susan,
I think you could get a job working for West Virginia tourism. Nice advertising shots. ;-)

But Ireland is gorgeous too...at least the parts of it that you've shown us.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for stopping by Oils For Wellness and leaving the nice comment about the photo of my son. I am not a natural born photographer, but once in awhile I am blessed with a good photo! :)
Be well, Jen
